Flying Fish
The Flying Fish is a unique ocean creature known for its ability to glide above water. Belonging to the Exocoetidae family, these fish have large, wing-like pectoral fins that enable them to leap out of the water and glide for impressive distances, reaching up to 200 meters. This fascinating behavior is an adaptation to escape predators. Found in warm, tropical and subtropical waters, there are around 64 species of flying fish. They primarily feed on plankton and small marine organisms. Flying fish are typically small, with a maximum length of 45 centimeters, and exhibit a stunning iridescent blue-green color.
