George H.W. Bush was the 41st President of the United States, serving from 1989 to 1993. Prior to his presidency, Bush served as Vice President under Ronald Reagan and as Director of the CIA. During his presidency, he oversaw the end of the Cold War, the Gulf War, and the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. He also signed the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the Immigration Act of 1990 into law. Bush is the father of George W. Bush, who would go on to serve as the 43rd President of the United States.
