Beta help and FAQ

What can I play?

Play a solo Show or a Playlist in your browser, with three rounds, two hosts, and your chosen contestant. No account is needed. Playlists let you choose categories.

Are scores saved?

Local results are not saved, verified, ranked, or rewarded. Refreshing or leaving the page starts a new episode. Result sharing is a personal souvenir, not a leaderboard entry.

How do timing and lifelines work?

Questions have a 20-second answer clock; the final question has 30 seconds. There is no pause. Each lifeline is available once per episode, with one lifeline per question. 50/50 removes two wrong options; Ask the Hosts removes one.

How do I change sound or display?

Use Display and sound above the studio for mute, volume, captions, larger text, reduced motion, or HTML presentation. You can also start muted. Preferences stay in this browser when storage is available.

Which browsers work?

The studio uses WebGL2. If rendering is unavailable, the same local episode continues with HTML controls. Enhanced voices use optional WebGPU; system voices and captions provide fallbacks. You do not need WebGPU to play.

Why are voices downloading?

The homepage prepares about 43 MiB of enhanced voice assets in supported browsers. Downloads do not block play. Cached voices may be removed by your browser; clearing site data removes stored preferences and cached assets.

Enhanced speech uses KittenML's Kitten TTS Micro v0.8 model and voices. See the distributed model notice, model license, and browser runtime license. Photograph sources and licenses are listed in Image credits.

What happens offline?

A local show continues offline after its questions load. Server-scored accessible mode requires a connection; a disconnect ends that episode and offers a restart. Switching a local episode to HTML presentation does not change its score or scoring mode.

How do I report an issue?

Use Report this question after an answer or in the results review. For other feedback, email beta feedback with the page link, browser, and what happened. Please do not send passwords or other sensitive information.

Can I host a group?

This browser beta is solo. Legacy app-hosting and downloadable quizzes are separate from this beta; see About for details.

How long is an episode?

The question count is calculated from playable content. Muted HTML play measured 54 seconds for a five-question Show and 6 minutes 9 seconds for a 40-question Playlist in a desktop browser. Both used five seconds per answer, one second per other choice, and no lifelines. Estimates scale those quick-play measurements to the verified question count and round to the nearest minute; longer episodes are extrapolated. Reading speed, narration, lifelines, and device performance change the time.
